Job Summary
A Public Health Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who functions independently and exercises critical nursing judgment.  This position ensures the provision of quality nursing care and health education in accordance with best nursing practices.  The Public Health Nurse will assist with case management and the clinical service funtions of the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP) in McHenry County.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S.N. or Registered Nurse

 

  • Provides nursing assessment and coordination of breast and cervical cancer screening for women
  • Provides comprehensive follow-up for clients receiving screenings or testing and/or referrals
  • Provides clients with laboratory test results and explanations; as applicable
  • Provides education and quality nursing care; and is responsible for some day-to-day operation of clinics and travel to offsite clinics as assigned
